The qualifications of elders are primarily related to character (1 Timothy 3:1-7). In addition, elders determine doctrine, direction and discipline. Therefore, they must be strong theologically, especially in regards to the Gospel. Below is a list of the men on the eldership team of One Harbor. We have one team of elders, but as you will see, this team is divided up in their responsibilities regarding which site they are to prioritize.
DONNIEGRIGGS - Lead Pastor and MHC Site Lead Pastor
ALANBARTS - HVLK Executive Pastor
Alan is a lifelong resident of Eastern North Carolina. He and his wife, Shelly, have four children: Addison, Liam, Camden, and Ainsley. Alan enjoys helping people and seeing people come to know Jesus. He has a passion for seeing Gospel centered churches planted across our region and beyond. Alan and Shelly enjoy having people over to their home and spending time at the beach. He is currently an Assistant Manager at Lowes in Morehead City and will be the Executive Pastor at our Havelock Site.
ANDREWMIDGETT - MHC Marketplace Pastor
Andrew has lived in Carteret County for most of his life where he has been employed as a Harbor Pilot for 31 years. He and his family started attending One Harbor Church in late 2013 and became partners in early 2014. Andrew is married to his wife, Sally, and they have four daughters, Sara, Hannah, Rebecca, and Rachel. The great passions of his life are shepherding the Body of Christ and building up the local church through active fellowship and teaching the word of God. For many years, Andrew and Sally have enjoyed hosting community groups in their home, where he is able to combine his passion of teaching and fellowship with other believers. Andrew’s many hobbies include hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, roasting coffee, and chasing away boys who flirt with his daughters.
MIKEMCCLEES - MHC Marketplace Pastor
Mike and his family started attending One Harbor Church in September 2013 and he joined the eldership team in July 2016 as a marketplace pastor. He has a passion for people and for sharing the love of Jesus Christ through community and fellowship. Mike and his wife, Beth have been married since 1994 and they have two sons, Jack and Wyatt. Mike graduated from NC State University and has worked as a mechanical engineer since graduation in both eastern South and North Carolina. He enjoys fishing, cooking, boating with his family and living in a coastal community. Mike's desire is to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ furthered through loving people and investing in the lives of those around him.
SCOTTBEIERWALTES - BFT Site Pastor and Community Groups Director
Scott joined the staff part-time in January of 2016, and our Pastoral Staff in July 2016, to help our Community Groups to be vibrant and multiply. Scott is crazy about his beautiful wife, Katie, frozen blueberries, and their five amazing children: Emma, Jack, Annie, Leah, and Andris. Originally from Chicago, Scott and his family moved to Beaufort from the Lake Norman area north of Charlotte in the summer of 2014 to be a part of One Harbor. When he’s not helping One Harbor, Scott leads his business Air Cycle which helps organizations nationwide deal with problematic wastes and also serves on the advisory board for the Boys & Girls Club in Beaufort. Scott loves to help people, learn, play with friends and family, and explore the area especially the waterways. He’s excited for our Community Groups to grow in love for God and to follow Jesus passionately.
DOUGTYLER - SBO Site Executive Pastor
Doug joined One Harbor in March 2015 with his wife Ashley and three children, Kirstin, Madison and Jeffrey. He was born and raised in New Bern, NC and currently is president of SunFire Industries a local manufacturer also located in New Bern, NC. Doug loves spending time with his family, coaching his children's soccer teams and playing soccer himself. May through September you will most likely find this family at the beach somewhere in the beautiful crystal coast.
JONMCDANIEL - SBO Marketplace Pastor
Jon has been part of One Harbor since the early days of meeting in a living room. God radically transformed his heart in 2011, and Jon has since been serving the church in various roles and helping behind the scenes. Jon met his beautiful wife Chelsea in a One Harbor community group in 2013, and they were married in April of 2015. Both he and Chelsea love Jesus more than anything, and are excited to see how God uses them as a team for His glory. Jon joined the eldership team in August of 2016, and currently serves as a marketplace pastor at the Swansboro site. Jon is a licensed professional engineer, and is co-owner of a local engineering & surveying firm in downtown Jacksonville. His favorite hobby is surfing, and he enjoys early American history and being goofy around his wife. Jon is a 10th generation North Carolinian, and has a passion to facilitate church plants to advance the gospel in his home state and beyond.
RYANMARSHALL - Creative Arts Pastor and MHC Site Pastor
Ryan joined the One Harbor Church staff in January of 2013 to oversee our Music+Media teams, Communications, and joined the Eldership Team in February of 2015. After graduating with a degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California Irvine in 2008, Ryan spent five years in the marketplace in sales and marketing while working on staff at Southlands Church in Southern California. Ryan and his beautiful wife Megan married in the summer of 2006, and are the proud parents of their sweet twin daughters Emma and Hannah. The Marshall's love taking road trips up the coast, walking the streets of small towns in search of the city's best cappuccino, spending time with family and friends, dancing when no one's looking, Netflix documentaries, and a good #hashtag.
BRIANRECKER - BFT Site Lead Pastor
Brian joined the One Harbor Church staff in 2012 and joined the Eldership team in February of 2013 as the Beaufort Site Pastor. Brian is the primary preaching pastor in Beaufort, and he works to ensure that the Beaufort site has a united vision with the rest of One Harbor Church in advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Before working at One Harbor, Brian had a career in the Marine Corps as an Air Intelligence Officer at the Cherry Point Air Station, where he learned many lessons on both leading and following well. Brian’s wife, Emily, is both his biggest supporter and favorite person to hang out with. They have one son of their own, Judah Cash, and as foster parents they usually have several other children in their care as well! They enjoy Crossfit, eating with friends, game nights, bike rides around Beaufort, and collecting and listening to vinyl records on his record player.
BRYANHART - Executive Pastor
Bryan was ordained as an elder at One Harbor Church in October 2012. In addition to regular pastoral care, he is responsible for supervising many of the church programs, ensuring that the vision, direction and requirements set by the elders are implemented and carried out. As the church expands into a multi-site model, Bryan will also be responsible for ensuring each site is properly supported by the centralized staff.
Prior to joining the staff of One Harbor, Bryan served as a U.S. Marine. His experience in the Marine Corps centered around logistics, administration, and operations. He served in this capacity at Cherry Point, in Afghanistan, and aboard a US naval vessel in the Caribbean. Bryan brings a passion for prayer, a love for God's people, and a jealousy for God's glory. He enjoys spending time with his wife Kimberlee, daughter Lyla Fae, and son Dawson. He also enjoys brewing a good cup of coffee and beating Jesse Kincer at Settlers of Catan.
TOMTAPPING - SBO Site Lead Pastor
Tom joined One Harbor in January 2012 with his wife Una. He has led churches around the world since 1978 and is gifted at raising up and releasing leaders. Before coming to One Harbor, Tom handed over the church he led in Perth, Australia to his son Mark who is continuing to take it onward and upward. Tom and Una have 6 grandchildren, 3 from their daughter Liza who lives in New York City with her husband Dawie. The other 3 live in Perth, Australia with their son Mark and his wife Nasia. Tom enjoys riding Harley's, playing golf, joking around and loves life in general. He is famous for instituting the 11th commandment..."Thou shalt have fun in the Kingdom of God!".

JESSEKINCER - MHC Site Pastor
Before One Harbor, Jesse helped launch and grow a successful marketing research company then started his own company which is where he worked until it became evident that the time had come to sell the business and focus his time and talents solely as an elder. Jesse currently oversees Community Groups, Hospitality Teams, and generates much of the content you will find in our community group curriculum and online in digital articles. Jesse is married to Hayley and is a proud father of his three boys Asher, Riley, Rory, and daughter Sierra. Jesse enjoys surfing, reading theology, drinking coffee, grilling out with friends, drinking coffee, watching movies like Cool Hand Luke or anything beginning with Bourne, listening to the blues and drinking coffee.
EAMONKROMKA - MHC Marketplace Pastor
Eamon began attending One Harbor on its first Sunday in 2009. Since then, God has moved on a massive level in his life, and he joined the Eldership team in 2015 as a marketplace pastor. He is Carteret County born and bred, and has spent his entire life loving all that our coastal town has to offer. Eamon married his amazing wife Diana in 2010, and they now have 2 daughters, Trinity and Eleanor. He has spent much of his career in the boating industry, but now owns a few local businesses in which he serves the community as a general contractor/ builder, and maker of concrete countertops. Eamon loves the church and has served in many roles over the past years. He is making the most of the giftings and callings in which God has given him, through the marketplace and the church, and he has a hunger to see the community reached by the gospel. In his free time he enjoys time spent with his family, surfing, freediving, spearfishing and everything else that fits our local culture here in Eastern NC. Eamon’s life is evidence of Jesus’s redemptive work in our town.
