Our Mission

"All For The Sake of The Gospel, We Are Making Disciple-Making Disciples"

One Harbor Church is a community that exists because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are committed to continually learning more about the Gospel, being changed by the Gospel, & living lives that glorify God by the power of the Gospel.

Our Values

Looking Up: Theological

Isaiah 6:1-4 ESV "In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke."

As disciples of Jesus we are committed to studying the Word of God & always allowing it to amaze us as we see how "high & exalted" this God we serve really is.  The goal of our study is not to attain a "knowledge that puffs up" & makes us arrogant, but to see again & again that there is a God & we are not Him bringing us a sense of spiritual-bankruptcy & humility as we consider Him.

Looking In: Redemptive

Isaiah 6:5-7 ESV- "And I said: "Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!" Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth and said: "Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for."

It's no good learning great things about Jesus if we are not willing to apply them to our own lives where we "mourn our sin" & allow the work of Jesus to "atone" for our sin.  Hypocrisy is skipping this step & moving from seeing how great God is to trying & fix other people before we have looked in our own hearts & confronted our own sin & trusted Jesus to set us free & forgive us of that sin.  We will always be a people who are about repentance, faith & change as God confronts our sin & we grow in maturity, seeking to become more & more like Jesus.

Looking Out: Missional

Isaiah 6:8 ESV- "And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

Finally, what good is knowing deep truths about God & saying we apply them to our lives if that doesn't lead to us living drastically differently & longing to live for what God wants us to live for?  Modern day Christian-Fundamentalism is guilty of building bubbles to live in where we don't have to encounter a world that Jesus was sent into to "seek & save the lost."  At One Harbor, because we have seen how great God is- greater than all the things that promise what our heart longs for but never satisfy; because we have seen how His love & sacrifice sets us free from our own sin & changes us giving us new desires & a new heart; because of this, the most loving thing we could do is never be silent about Him to the world we live in.  We are not running from the world, but into it with the news of all news- the Gospel that Jesus died for our sins so that we could love God & live life for God.

We are on a journey seeking to Know the Gospel, Apply the Gospel & Live Out the Gospel.
